Affiliated Genetics Inc. (AGI) was founded in April 1994 in order to provide DNA-based diagnostic testing focusing exclusively on human identity. AGI is committed to provide outstanding customer service with a highly trained staff of scientists, technicians and customer service representatives. We have an ongoing research effort to develop new ways to enhance DNA identity testing and provide the services that our customers need. The laboratory meets and exceeds all relevant standards for paternity and forensics laboratories and is one of less than 40 laboratories world-wide accredited by the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) for relationship testing. Affiliated Genetics is CLIA, CAP and AABB accredited. We provide a wide range of clinical testing and laboratory services to researchers, law enforcement and corporate clients.

Description of Services

DNA and RNA extractions, Realtime PCR analysis, SNP analysis using Sequenoms iPLEX system, expression analysis using the Taqman system. Manual extraction of RNA and DNA. We utilize our proprietary DNA extraction reagents, DNAQuick for DNA extraction from most of the sources. We also utilize Qiagen column protocols for some sample types. For RNA extractions we typically use Tri-reagent method and some times utilize Qiagen column based protocols. We have Standard Operating Protocols (SOPs) for all the different applications.

CynerGene LLC is available to offer solutions to genomic service needs. Located in the Maryland biotech corridor outside Washington DC, we provide quality services for SNP genotyping, gene expression, DNA methylation and microarray assays. We are recently providing fine-mapping genotyping service using the industry leading BeadExpress platform from Illumina at low cost. This would be extremely ideal for running your samples for low plexing. Illumina's VeraCode technology leverages the power of digital holographic codes to provide a robust detection method for multiplex assays requiring high precision, accuracy, and speed. CynerGene is a GLP compliant laboratory dedicated to providing high quality, QC centric services for the scientific community at a cost effective price.

Expression Analysis provides expression profiling and genotyping services using Affymetrix, Illumina, Luminex and Applied Biosystems' TaqMan® technologies. Description of Services

The Research Cell Bank (RCB) is a qualified, experienced laboratory that has been actively engaged in clinical research through B-lymphoblastoid cell (B-LCL) transformation and maintenance, DNA extraction, and inventory control for more than 30 years. The RCB is engaged in contractual, fee-for-service work for external entities requiring a large laboratory with expertise in the processing of blood and tissue samples, production of B-LCL, DNA extraction, cryopreservation, and maintenance of a large-scale frozen repository.

Applications:

Purification of DNA using Oragene is only done manually utilizing a modified salting out protocol with 5 Prime reagents. Isolated genomic DNA is rehydrated in T/E buffer at room temperature. The concentration of DNA is determined by a Spectramax 384 Plus spectrophotometer optical density (OD) measurement at 260 nm; the relative purity by OD 260/280 ratio.

The Facility provides sample preparation, assay design, lab work, and initial data analysis for a variety of SNP genotyping platforms including custom TaqMan, Beckman SNPstream, and Illumina GoldenGate, as well as whole-genome genotyping by Illumina Infinium and Affymetrix GeneChip systems.
