DNA Genotek Partners with Roswell Park Cancer Institute to Accelerate Breast Cancer Research

DNA Genotek to Provide Method for Easy, Reliable and Non-Invasive DNA Collection On-Site at Komen Western New York Race for the Cure®

DNA Genotek, a leading provider of products for biological sample collection, today announced that it has partnered with the Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) to collect DNA saliva samples on-site at the Susan G. Komen Western New York Race for the Cure®. The race will be held this June 13th at the Delaware Park Rose Gardens in Buffalo, NY.

This event is the second of its kind under the "Spit for the Cure"™ umbrella and joins the very successful event initiated in 2007 by DNA Genotek, the Arkansas Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Thousands of DNA samples have been collected at the Arkansas event.

The Komen Western New York Race for the Cure presents another excellent opportunity to accelerate breast cancer research. With more than 5,000 race participants expected, it will provide access to ideal candidates who satisfy donor profile requirements. The samples collected will become part of RPCI's Data Bank and BioRepository (DBBR) and used to augment cancer research.
